For the remainder of this week, we will be “jig-sawing” our expertise on each of the five phases of the Fur Trade together in preparation for our quiz on Friday.
In Wednesdays’ class, we participated in a “gallery walk” of each groups’ poster, and then made a co-constructed document summarizing each phase of the Fur Trade. This document can be used during Fridays’ quiz, in addition to any additional notes you make on these pages while we watch “Canada: A People’s History” on Thursday.
Our co-constructed google Doc can be found here:

Oath of Allegiance Assignment
The British asked the Acadians to swear an Oath of Allegiance to them:
For this assignment, you will be creating your own Oath of Allegiance.
Today, people still swear Oaths when they are becoming new citizens of a country or joining some organizations such as government.
For this activity, you will be creating your own Oath of Allegiance. This should incorporate at least THREE literary devices we have learned about in poetry, such as alliteration, imagery, similes, and metaphors. It must be at least 15 lines long.
Your Oath of Allegiance could be to:
-Your school or class
-Your family
-A country
-Your favourite professional sports team
-A team or club that you are a part of
In addition to words, you will use your creativity to add visuals to your Oath. The visual element should help to enhance the theme of your Oath, and could be with drawings, paint, collage etc.
